2012 European Year for Active Ageing and Solidarity between Generations
Evaluation Report
The European Commission has adopted a report on the implementation, results and overall assessment of the 2012 European Year for Active Ageing and Solidarity between Generations.
According to the report, EY2012 has helped convey a more positive image of population ageing by highlighting the potentials of older people and promoting their active participation in society and the economy. It has managed to mobilize numerous governmental and non-governmental actors, and many Member States and civil society organizations have used the European Year as an opportunity to develop new initiatives or strengthen their existing ones.

During 2012 the Malta Union of Bank Employees – MUBE participated with several social partners in the FIBA-CISL project on ”Developing solidarity between generations of workers: good practices to increase employment rates of youth and of workers over 55”. The workshops were held in various European countries, including Malta. This project was funded by the European Union
