The MiCreS project

The MiCreS project (co-funded by the European Union) is being implemented under the Erasmus+, Forward Looking Programme (Call 2023) and lasts from 01/01/2024 until 31/12/2026

MUBE has recently been invited to participate as a partner in the Erasmus+ project called MiCreS. MUBE officials attended the kickoff meeting held last February in Frankfurt with a follow up meeting taking place in Barcelona this month.

The project is coordinated by Frankfurt School – IAS and implemented jointly by 13 partners from European and other countries: –
• European Banking & Financial Services Training Association (EBTN), Belgium
• The Institute of Bankers in Ireland (IOB), Ireland
• Institutul Bancar Roman (IBR), Romania
• Institute of Financial Services (IFS Malta), Malta
• Fundació Privada Institut D’estudis Financers (BFS-IEF), Spain
• Macedonian Banking Association (MBA), North Macedonia
• Association Of Serbian Banks (ASB), Serbia –
• IFE Istanbul Finans Enstitusu Egitim ve Danismanlik Hizme (IFE), Turkey
• Finance & Banking, Associazione per lo Sviluppo Organizzativo e delle Risorse U. (EFFEBI), Italy
• Banking & Payments Federation Ireland Company (BPFI), Ireland
• Malta Union of Bank Employees (MUBE), Malta –
• European Forum of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (EfVET), Belgium

The aims of the project are to create a micro credential in sustainable finance and to develop a block chain wallet to store this micro credential. Interested financial institutions could have supervised access to this information for their staff. The advantage of this system is a reliable and constantly updated data house which also has the possibility of being extended in the future to facilitate storage of industry wide credentials. MUBE’s interest in the project relates to the added value of this micro credential as it can improve employability and also ‘movability’ of employees. i.e. credentials will be quality assured and accepted throughout Europe enabling employees to work in countries outside of their domicile.

Challenges facing the project team are mainly centered around the fact that the 13 partners are based in various EU and Non-EU countries which have different languages and different educational systems as well as different financial services system.

Dissemination events will be held regularly throughout the life of this 3year project and MUBE’s role is to encourage members to attend any events held in Malta.

A pilot project session will in held in Malta which will be a fantastic opportunity for our members to participate and have a tangible experience of this new credential and the technology involved.
You will be able to follow the progress of the project on the social media channels which have been set up:
